Located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood in the city of Chicago, this contemporary townhome has some bold lighting feature. The design uses mostly cold-white LED lighting throughout the entire space. Three staircases are backlight with cove lighting, which is positioned behind frosted tempered glass kick-plates. Inverted lanterns with spot lighting hang from the ceiling and accentuate the black stone mantel fireplace. Further linear cove lighting runs entire lengths of selected walls for general illumination and task lighting.

This contemporary loft, situated in the Pearle District of Portland, features concrete columns which are subtly illuminated with cold-white spot lighting. Additional recessed canned lighting was installed to highlight other elements of the space, as well as under cabinet cove lighting for a subtle accent, yet still functional for kitchen tasks.

LEDretrofits had the opportunity to work with one of our existing clients on their vacation home located in Oak Creek Canyon. Illuminated both internally and externally with warm-white LED’s, which includes in-ground square spotlights that runs the entire length of the outdoor deck. An asymmetrical beam-angle was specified to spread the light vertically and horizontally on the white cement wall. Additional pool-grade fixtures were used to light the water and provide additional outdoor lighting. The design objective was to use LED’s to evoke a tranquil mood without letting the lighting take away from the natural surrounding landscape.
