Located in the Lincoln Square neighborhood in the city of Chicago, this contemporary townhome has some bold lighting feature. The design uses mostly cold-white LED lighting throughout the entire space. Three staircases are backlight with cove lighting, which is positioned behind frosted tempered glass kick-plates. Inverted lanterns with spot lighting hang from the ceiling and accentuate the black stone mantel fireplace. Further linear cove lighting runs entire lengths of selected walls for general illumination and task lighting.

This contemporary loft, situated in the Pearle District of Portland, features concrete columns which are subtly illuminated with cold-white spot lighting. Additional recessed canned lighting was installed to highlight other elements of the space, as well as under cabinet cove lighting for a subtle accent, yet still functional for kitchen tasks.

LEDretrofits had the opportunity to work with one of our existing clients on their vacation home located in Oak Creek Canyon. Illuminated both internally and externally with warm-white LED’s, which includes in-ground square spotlights that runs the entire length of the outdoor deck. An asymmetrical beam-angle was specified to spread the light vertically and horizontally on the white cement wall. Additional pool-grade fixtures were used to light the water and provide additional outdoor lighting. The design objective was to use LED’s to evoke a tranquil mood without letting the lighting take away from the natural surrounding landscape.

Bosphorus Bridge
Istanbul, Turkey

Connecting two continents, the Bosphorus Bridge is the most famous landmark of Turkey's largest city, Istanbul. Completed in 1973, the nearly 1 mile (1.5 km) long suspension bridge spans the Bosphorus Strait, connecting Eastern Europe to Western Asia. LED color-changing flood lights produce over 5,000 lumens that illuminate the 345 ft (105 m) high towers of the bridge with uniformity from bottom to top. Additional accent fixtures placed along the guardrails of the bridge illuminate the structure of the deck, along with direct-view color-changing light and smaller RGB flood fixtures, installed at the top point of every zigzag steel cable. These fixtures shine as bright points of direct-view LED light while subtly highlighting the bridge's main rope.

Pantheon
Rome, Italy

Built in 118-128 AD, the Pantheon in Rome is one of the best-preserved Ancient Roman buildings. The interior dome, formally lit with inefficient and hard to maintain metal halide luminaires, was retrofitted in 2013 with a double row of high-output warm-white liner LED fixtures. A narrow optic is used on the back row of fixtures that projects light to the crown and mid section, while a wider optic floods and fills lower and remaining areas. The dual-optical combination achieves full saturation throughout the entire space and creates an extremely rich illuminating effect. Converting to LED’s reduced the energy consumption by more than 70% and saved thousands of dollars of annual maintenance costs.

The Amari Ocean Pattaya is five-star resort located on the Gulf of Thailand. Opening in 2007, LEDretrofits was hired to design the lighting elements for the lobby and lounge areas. Our goals were to highlight the quality of material used and through lighting design, create a feeling of grandeur and sophistication for their patrons. Design elements include backlighting of floor-to-ceiling stained-glass columns, white cove-lighting etched into the mid-section of the reception desk and wall-washers that illuminate architectural details

Boutique Hotel
Singapore, Singapore

Naumi is considered to be a premiere Boutique Hotel in Singapore and is located in the charming enclave of the Prime Orchard District. Simple, elegant and timeless are the descriptive words the owner and interior designer had LEDretrofits design towards. Structural pillars are wrapped with rectangular black granite slabs and backlit white frosted-glass, and additional spot and recessed lighting are mounted along horizontal beams. Both lighting elements provide general lighting and ambience, which create a visual texture playing off-of the buildings support structure.
