Need Analysis
The first step in determining the viability of an energy-efficient lighting upgrade or retrofit is the needs analysis. A LEDretrofits auditor will perform an on-site inventory of your existing lighting and interview you to determine your unique needs and challenges. Some of the questions that will be answered in this phase are:
Quantity and type of existing lighting fixtures?
Lighting hours of operation?
Current lighting issues: Performance, abnormal maintenance, quality of light?
Additional goals: Lighting controls, safety, worker efficiency or sustainability?
Preliminary Assessment
Next, an auditor will prepare a preliminary assessment which includes a product recommendation, estimated energy savings, features & benefits, financial analysis, available utility incentives/tax benefits and an estimated cost of the upgrade. The preliminary analysis provides a framework for the lighting upgrade or retrofit.
Engineered System Design
Depending on the size and scope of your project, an engineered system design may be necessary. A LEDretrofits project engineer will utilize a computer software design system to determine the appropriate number of lights, lighting levels, height and spacing to maximize the perfect lighting layout for your facility.
